Proper swatches etc. to come as London smog is being very uncooperative at the moment. I just wanted to share the squee today, in my fading light :)

The texture of the top two shades in particular are simply divine -- intense, molten pigment. The middle two are silkier: one shimmer, one satin. Bottom left pan is a Glitter shade akin to the newer ones released this summer, and bottom right is a satiny-smooth, very pigmented blush [ignore the glitter, that's pollution].
For inquiring minds: this is what Mon Shu Girl looks like after dark
Er... so.... anyone depotted one of these Shu palettes? Any tips?
The Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld collection is out right now in the UK. Both palettes are limited edition and retail for £45 each.
Swatches at Rouge Deluxe and Beautyezine.
oh no, I wasn't going to buy this but it looks GORGEOUS, the very top left shadow is stunning
ReplyDeleteneither was I, after the disappointing previews (mainly Dora...) but I was fumbling for my purse on first swatch
DeleteI'm sorry. I'm scared of Vampire Dora. I'm scared!
ReplyDelete*soothes* I mean to kill her with fire shortly
DeleteI'm contemplating getting both (the textures oh the textures) but the wallet does weep. where did you get yours Kate? I'm hoping liberty will get it soon :D
ReplyDeleteSelfridges and the Shu site have it :) I was going to wait for Liberty points but I am weak :/
Deleteand darling, I'm going to skip the Suqqu Xmas quads for this -- the textures are THAT good.
Deletethey are delicious indeed. I played with them at the Covent Garden store and could barely resist pulling out my wallet :( I must say the christmas quads aren't that enchanting (from the tiny pictures anyway). can't wait for your swatches for these :D
Deleteand burrrrrrn it.
I was just on the Shu site contemplating this today! The creepy Dora look-a-like turned me off but now you have me curious with all the talk of divine textures..
ReplyDeleteThe top two colors look gorgeous! And the glitter pollution line cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteOh my 2x! I'm still deciding between the Burgundy v.s. the Smoky palette. Certainly can't wait for your review, swatches, etc.
ReplyDeleteTeenage Dora in her vampire/goth/emo phase! I have a weakness for Shu's holiday palettes so I might (might? more like definitely) get this. Did you like the other palette with the greens and blues?
ReplyDeleteAnd on a random note (sorry), Karl Lagerfeld claims he uses Shu eyeshadow to draw, but he's probably rolling around and rubbing glitter on himself when no one (except his cat Choupette) is looking and cackling maniacally...
OHHH! I am excited to see your looks with this palette. That purple shade is calling my name! Eagerly awaiting your swatches :)

Mon Shu girl is a bit scary after dark. I am awaiting your gorgeous swatches as I might need both of these palettes.
ReplyDeleteI vowed to never again purchase a Shu holiday palette after botching a depot. Love the shadows and blushes, LOATHE the compacts. Sure the outsides are (sometimes)kinda interesting but it is not. worth. it.
ReplyDeleteSo... Uh. No help from me I guess =|
Yay you got it! My husband helped to pick up the piece I pre-ordered, but I won't get to play with it until November. Please do some looks with it!
ReplyDeletePretty!! I'm in a "no"-makeup-makeup phase, so can't wait to see these colors on your lovely face - knock me out of my rut!
ReplyDeleteWai you make me want :(
ReplyDeleteMon Shu Girl is horrifying yet I somehow still love her. Not sure what this says about me. :P
ReplyDeleteLooks gorgeous! I think shes great for halloween lol, xoxo.
ReplyDeleteI hate the mascot, but now I'm in love with the shadows. Thanks for the peek.
ReplyDeleteOMG the glitter looks amazing! I don't know when I would be using those colors but they're so pretty! I don't like the Mon Shu mascot but seriously the color looks amazing!
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's because I live in a warmer climate for 3 months of the year, I've never had trouble depotting shu. In the Taiwanese summer heat, most of my makeup want to depot themselves. My route des indes de chanel mirror *still* wants to fall off... I'm thinking a pin and a *little little* bit of heating up in the oven would do the trick? The vampire dora does look a tad creepy...
